Ukraine – Book profits

Support Ukraine!

As stated before on this site, all profits from my book ‘Ukraine – Infrastructure victory‘ will be donated to Ukraine. The organization I chose to receive the funds is help99.co, an Estonian organization helping Ukraine with necessary things as light trucks, vans, but also with ambulances – both military and civilian – and other supplies for Ukrainians. The price of a book is made up of several factors:

  • Type of book (e-book, paperback, hardcover)
  • Number of pages
  • Content (black/white or color)
  • Type of paper
  • Market place
  • Author royalty rate
  • Profit
  • …

Apart from the above and depending on where you live, you pay for:

  • Publishing costs
  • Postage
  • Taxes
  • VAT
  • Import tax
  • Tariffs (!)
  • …

Apart from the publishing costs, I have little influence on the second group, I try and reduce the costs for the first group as this will increase the donation made to help99.co. I will bear the publishing costs myself, these are a one time expense and depending on where I publish. These costs will not be deducted from the profits.

To make things easy for you, the e-book and paperback will be available on Amazon and Kindle. Note that these are platforms that I recently abandoned due to the owner’s involvement in the current US regime. I’ll make an exception for this book as I know Amazon and Kindle provide easy ways to get the book home to you, the customer and reader.

The book will be published on other platforms as well. Browse your favorite webshop and buy it where you feel comfortable to buy. If the book is not available on your favorite platform: let me know and I’ll see if I can do something about that. Once published, I’ll add a list of sites on this page where you can get your copy and contribute to help99.co to get those supplies out there in Ukraine.

    I’ll be carrying around a couple of copies of this book all summer. These cost the same, 175 SEK in Sweden, but all of this goes to Ukraine – I’ll pay for postage to me and printing. And you can get your copy signed! 
    If I have to mail it to you, I will deduct the postage to you (as Swedish mail services are very expensive), but I will still pay for the printing and postage to me.

How does that work?
If the ebook or paperback is purchased within the EURO or US Dollar currency zones, up to 70% (ebook) and up to 60% (paperback) royalty rules apply – depending on what you buy. If sold in another region, the royalty per sold book will be lower, 40% if I remember correctly – in which case the book will cost you the same, but Ukraine gets less – so order correctly for the best result.

The money will be deposited on my bank account reserved for book sales. I can see how many books were sold and where, not by whom. I’ll transfer the profits from this book to the account of help99.co.
