Venezuelan oil…
At first, it was hijacked for decades by foreign oil companies. Then it was nationalized and effectively hijacked by Chavez, Maduro and their elite. This latest ‘development’ leaves Venezuelan oil hijacked by prez-attempt trump. During all of this time, no oil profits were ever shared with the Venezuelan people.
Note the quoted ‘development’ above, referring to the new form of colonization as announced and deployed by the US: land-grabbing countries to steal their natural resources to benefit the USA.
The Venezuelan people never did get to enjoy prosperity from their oil, and it seems unlikely they’ll see it now.
In US newspapers, this ‘deal’ may be presented (‘twisted’ would be a better word) as assisting Venezuela to get the country back on its feet; in reality, it is not! Make no mistake: the US will take full control, assisted by the puppet Venezuelan administration, and the US will be making all the money, not the Venezuelan people.
An afterthought:
…no doubt, this stolen oil is meant to help bring down the price of gas in the US. Which is the whole purpose of the ‘deal’: deflecting from the fact that the trump regime is fooling its voters while enriching itself from the presidency.
