When Eef wrote his piece on foreign languages, more specific on the French language for non-native speakers, he presented the article to me by email. In this email Eef he asked me on my view on the situations sketched in his article. This is a very fair question indeed as my wife and I left our home country The Netherlands (aka Holland) in 1997 when we emigrated to Sweden. You could say Eef’s and my family share the experience of moving abroad to a country we did not speak the language of. The prevailing language in Sweden being Swedish as it is French in France. In Eef’s defence, they were pensioners, while we were in our thirties. Continue reading →

Continue reading →
Sweden, NATO and democracy
Let’s start with democracy:
According to Wikipedia, one of the key elements of democracy is ‘…day-to-day decision making of democracies is the majority rule…’. Another article, this time from an Oxford dictionary, mentions a democracy to be ‘…a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives…’. Police brutality – Unique to the USA?
It has been impossible to ignore the cases of severe police brutality from departments all over the USA. Any reasonable person would wonder, after reading about this for the second, third, or even fourth time in the same year, why US police departments do not learn from previous examples. After all, how hard can it be? Continue reading →
Domestic terroristm
When I wrote about terrorists a few weeks ago, I only briefly mentioned the domestic variety of terrorists or terrorism. According to trusty old Wikipedia, domestic terrorism can be simplest described as:
Domestic terrorism or homegrown terrorism is a form of terrorism in which victims “within a country are targeted by a perpetrator with the same citizenship” as the victims.
At the same time, Wikipedia mentions that there is no universally accepted definition of this phenomenon, leaving it to each country to set its own definition. Continue reading →

The Big Day – A deadline thriller
Published today (10th of June, 2022) my new book:
SAS, piloterna och flygresenärerna
2022-07:
Continue reading →
Announcement: New book (short story)
As aforementioned, there’s another new book on its way to the publisher. With it being a short story, I’ll probably not do the paperback thing on it. Well, perhaps I might after all, we’ll see. Continue reading →
Preliminary reading news!
Yup, indeed, another new book is on its way!
Once again, it is by me!
Update, 2022-06-28:
The writing of the new book is done! Now there’re only a review and layout issues to address before publication. The title, you may ask, here you go:
The Deep
It will first come out as Paperback, followed by Ebook a little later.
You may want to find out more about it, or even be interested in reading it! But you’ll have to hold your horses for it to be written and published first. Even though I’m on it, it still is a work in progress and far from done. I’ll keep you posted! Continue reading →
Dawid Isaak
A well known name, at least out here in Sweden. Unfortunately, not as well known abroad as that might have impacted his case greatly and positively.
In 2001, Isaak, an Eritrean journalist and permanent resident and citizen of Sweden, was working in his former Continue reading →
